Widgets & Live Activity
These features are for iPhone. They need a recent iOS version and are not available on Android.
Live Activity
While a workout is running, the lock screen and the Dynamic Island show your training day, the duration, your sets, the current exercise and the rest timer. On iOS 17 and later you can also work with it directly from the lock screen: add or remove rest time, skip the rest and check off the next set with last time’s values. Tap it to jump back into the workout. On Apple Watch it appears in the Smart Stack with iOS 18.
Workout bar
On iOS 26 a bar above the tab bar shows your running workout with its set progress and duration. During a rest it shows a countdown. Tap it to return to the workout.
Home and lock screen widgets
Frame offers widgets for the home screen and the lock screen:
- Next workout: what is due today or next, with a Start button
- Weekly goal: how many sessions you did this week
- Calendar: your training days and planned days
- Monthly summary: workouts and PRs of the month
To add one, press and hold the home screen, tap + and search for Frame. Widgets look ahead about two weeks, so they stay useful even when you do not open the app for a few days.
