Exercise catalog

Frame comes with a catalog of more than 300 exercises, each with an English and German name and step-by-step instructions.

Search and filter

Use Search exercises on Home, or open the catalog while editing a plan or during a workout. Search works with English and German names. Filter by Muscle group and Equipment to narrow the list. Popular exercises shows a short list of common picks.

The exercise page

Tap an exercise to see:

  • Overview: your personal records for it, such as heaviest weight, best estimated 1RM, best set volume and best workout volume, plus the muscles it trains
  • History: every workout in which you did it
  • How to: step-by-step instructions, plus links to search for videos on YouTube and TikTok

How exercises are logged

Every exercise has a logging type, and the workout screen adapts to it:

  • Weight × reps: for most lifts
  • Reps only: bodyweight exercises such as push-ups
  • Time: for example planks
  • Distance + time: cardio such as running or rowing

Create your own exercise

Missing an exercise? Tap + in the catalog and choose a name, the primary muscle group, optional secondary muscles, the equipment, the logging type and whether it is an isolation exercise. Your own exercises are only visible to you and appear at the top of Popular exercises.

Muscles an exercise trains

Each exercise has one primary muscle group. Many also list muscles that help, shown as Also works. In your statistics these secondary muscles count as half a set. Plan blocks and targets only count the primary group.
